As the web design part of our business continues to grow, we like to add features and functionality for our clients.
Currently, it would seem Google is ‘the’ search engine of choice. It would also seem that the word ‘Google’ is used synonyously for web searching much in the same way ‘Xerox’ is used synonymously with making a page copy. With that in mind, we have adopted the tools available via Google, for monitoring and optimizing web pages. Logic would dictate if anyone would know how to assist results with Google, it would be Google themselves.
Beginning July 1, 2008 all Whiplash Design & Print Services web sites will implement 2 of Google’s web site services that will ‘help you with your crawling and indexing questions, introduce you to offerings that can enhance and increase traffic to your site, and connect you with your visitors.’
Service #1 is the suite of tools available for developers called Google Web Master Tools. The Web Master Tools will ‘help you with your crawling and indexing questions, introduce you to offerings that can enhance and increase traffic to your site, and connect you with your visitors.’ As part of the implementation, Whiplash DPS creates and uploads an XML file Sitemap to help ensure proper crawling and possible indexing of web pages.
The second service is Google Analytics. Analytics provides rich, in depth information regarding visitor trends, key word and search results and much more.
These services, along with the information gathered in our constant research and learning of SEO (search engine optimization) is another of the value added services we provide to our clients. Furthermore; existing sites will be upgraded with the mentioned features as part of our regular site upgrades for existing sites.
It is worth mentioning, our search engine submission services are not limited to Google. However, research has indicated there are many companies out there willing to charge various amounts of money for so-called ‘site optimizers’ or ‘content analyzers’ which are readily available for free to those willing to look for them. Google is one of those places where quality site tools are available for free. It just happens to be at the same place every business wants to be found.
We will continue to add and implement those features we find beneficial to site development and we look forward to bringing those benefits to our clients.
