We recently completed a web site renovation for Dan Jones and Associates, Inc. Dan Jones and Associates provides real estate and property managements services for the greater Jacksonville Florida area.
Their original web site was a bit scattered and visually inconsistent and was not originally created in a format with search-engine-friendly results in mind.
Renovation goals included cleaning up the site visually and making site navigation a little more user friendly. Additional goals included optimizing the site for better search engine results.
Search Engine Optimization renovation included:
- tearing down previous text code to utilize proper head and paragraph tags. (Proper tags are analyzed by search engines and play a role in evaluating a sites overall organic content.)
- creating headlines and bylines with specific key word goals for each page
- title tags and meta tags specific to each page consistent with corresponding page key words
- submission of site URL to Google, Yahoo, MSN Live and Alexa search engines
- submission of the business to Google Local, Yahoo Local and MSN Live Local business listings
- creation and submission of a sitemap to aid in overall web search indexing
- addition of Google Analytics to begin tracking visitor trends and monitor the site
The site renovation included rebuilding the site structure as a template and then creating all subsequent pages from the new template. By utilizing a site template, site-wide elements remain visually consistent and site-wide changes only need to be made once – all pages created from the template are automaticly updated. This method allows quick site-wide changes and saves our clients money.
Site Renovation also included:
- removal of dead links
- removal of redundent page copy
- creation of key word optimized head lines and by-lines
- custom title and meta tags specific for each page
- edit images for consistent presentation
- addition of Google Web Tools to analyize and monitor the site’s structure and spiderability
