Things have been busy here at Whiplash DPS and we have some some exciting news!
Existing Web Site Upgrades
We’ve had a few web sites projects come in and are currently rebuilding our current web client’s sites to be ‘liquid’ designs, meaning they will adapt to the window’s and resolutions of each individual visitor. This is being done due to current trends in technology and web visitor statistics indicating a more diverse set of screen size and resolution settings. These renovations are being done for our clients at no charge to them.
Site-builder Added to Our Managed Hosting!
We recently had a Site-Builder module added to our managed web hosting servers. The site builder allows us to easily set up and implement a custom web site which also allows our clients to manage site content (text and images) themselves. This translates into lower cost upfront and minimal to no cost to maintain the site, since clients can manage the site(s) themselves.
Joomla- WordPress-Photo Galleries-Forums
Whiplash is now offering managed web hosting with open source (free) content management modules which allow our clients (you) the ability to manage and maintain site content.
These modules are a bit more capable than the SiteBuilder module and require dedicated attention to maintaining proper security maintenance, patches and upgrades as recommended by the developers, in order to keep the sites secure and safe from those nasty no-gooders out there.
We are currently developing hosting packages aimed at low cost, fast
access to include yearly hosting, basic customization and yearly security maintenance.
It should be noted, open source web apps are available freely to anyone with a web hosting account and anyone with the time and interest to learn to use and implement them; of course, if one were interested in or capable of installing, setting up and maintaining these applications, they probably wouldn’t need or want managed hosting, so … if you are the ‘do it yourself’ type, visit our self managed web solutions site.
