Welcome to the new website.
It’s taken forever but I’ve finally gotten around to moving the Whiplash DPS website from the old content management system (Drupal) to the new one (WordPress).
When I first created the WDPS website, which was quite a while ago, both CMS systems were comparable in feature sets and ease of use but over the years WordPress began to overtake Drupal in both of those departments.
These days, I find that there’s hardly a comparison anymore between the two. Drupal still has it’s perks but the amount of time required to maintain, enhance and extend it has reached a point of diminishing returns. It was well past time to move on.
I’m still contemplating many of the changes and updates I want and need to make, and client work comes before internal work, so updates are moving slow but steady.
One change I’m hoping to get implemented sooner rather than later is a adding catalog of the most popular and requested products and services, including “off the shelf” websites with e-commerce ready to go. I’ll also be adding client portals to provide an even easier method for ordering or re-ordering existing print collateral.
So, thanks for stopping by and checking the news while you’re here. I’d say that updates will be quick, but I’ll need business to slow down considerably for that to happen, and I sure don’t want that. ; )
